The past few years we plan a visit to my family in Colorado at the end of the summer for a break from the Texas heat. This year we were beyond ready and very sad to return to 105 temps after a week away. This summer ranks #2 for heat in the record books so far with a slight chance of taking over the #1 spot. Yay.
Besides the cooler temps, our visit was wonderful. We went for a different set-up in the car with all three kids in the back seat of our sedan. It was so much better than our Branson trip! Asher loved having his big brother and sister so close and he was a good distraction for them as well.
We made our usual stop at our friends’ farm in Garden City. The big kids played and played and Asher was loved on by their new baby who is just one month older.
In Denver we spent lots of time with family, made it back to Heritage Square and spent as much time outside as we could. Here are some of the highlights.
Our return trip brought us through Kansas with a visit to Keenan’s family. Ari and Keira stayed for a few extra days while Keenan, Asher and I made our way back home. The report came back that all went great. They went to the new children’s garden at Botanica and to a minor league baseball game and played hours on end with their cousins. We’re all hoping that next summer they will be ready to stay even longer!
Since getting home, we’ve been working on getting sleep schedules back on track and counting down the days until pre-school starts again. Just 2 more days!

Glad you were able to escape the heat for a week. =) I'm sorry it's still so hot though!
I love all the pictures! The ones of Jill and Asher, and Keanan and Kiera are great! They're all good really - but the one of Jill and Keanan on the scrambler - oh my! Just looking at it makes me nauseous! (My motion-sickness just gets worse and worse as I get older.)
