Halloween Happenings

We’ve had a pretty busy Halloween week.  Thursday Ari’s friend came over and we all made sugar cookies.

That night I raided our Halloween supplies to pull together my costume.  Ari found a wig that he had fun wearing around that night.

Last night we joined some friends for Halloween on Main Street in Grapevine.  It was very crowded and overwhelming for Ari.  We stayed long enough to get a few pieces of candy and some kettle corn.

This morning we went to Sam’s and Ari did much better saying “Trick-or-Treat” to the employees who offered him candy.  I think he’ll be ready for tonight.  Then we had an orange picnic lunch complete with mac ‘n cheese and mandarin oranges.  We’ll be eating some Halloweenies and Crusty Mummy Fingers for dinner tonight before hitting the streets!

Attack of the Bean Monster

Keira still loves to eat beans, but yesterday she was really getting into the Halloween spirit by adding some growls. What a funny girl :)

Pre-Halloween Fun

Last weekend we went to our first pumpkin farm.  It was a wonderful place – it didn’t cost to get in, there was plenty to see and do and the kids just loved it.  We got there after dinner and unfortunately the hayrides were booked for the rest of the night.  So instead we looked at pumpkins, played in the little kids hay maze, posed for pictures, rode toy tractors, looked at farm animals and ate some fresh kettle corn.  We’ll definitely be going back next year and will time it better to catch a hayride.

The kids have also been having a lot of practice wearing their costumes.  I saw this idea last year on Martha Stewart to turn hoodie jackets into the costumes with very minimal sewing.  I had planned to do it myself until I decided to take that test.  So my sweet mother-in-law graciously accepted my request for help.  They turned out fabulous and the kids love them!  Can you guess who they are?

Today was Ari’s “Fall Party” (aka Halloween Party) at school.  We all wore Halloween shirts and the kids wore their jackets as we went to and fro today.

Less Than One Week!

The count-down is on! My test is this Friday, October 23rd. The test itself is 8 hours long, but I'll probably be there 10 - 12 hours with all the protocol rig-a-ma-roll they make you go through. So, if you think of it, say a little prayer for me that day.

I'm so ready for this to be over. All the holiday items out in the stores are making me want to get back into crafs, baking and general holiday prep. Almost there!

Thanks again for all the support and prayers. It really means a lot :)
