Before another month goes by...

I keep meaning to post, but I wanted to do so when I had time to add pictures. I don't see that happening anytime soon so I thought I should at least write a quick post before another month goes by.

As I mentioned in my last post, Ari and I in fact came down with a cold the day after my test. Keenan and I were up with him most of the night since he was upset he couldn't breathe through his nose. The only good thing that came of that night was transitioning Ari to his big boy room! Keenan spent most of the night with Ari in his big boy bed so they both could sleep sitting up. The next night when I was putting Ari to bed he pointed to that room. I put him to bed there and he slept through the night! The next day we finished moving his clothes and toys over and he's been there ever since! He loves his new room and hasn't had any sleep issues there yet (knock on wood). I'll try to post pic's soon.

It's taken us almost 2 weeks to get over that cold (Keenan came down with it a few days later) and Ari got an ear infection out of it. I think I had a rough time since I was wiped out from preparing for my test, being pregnant and taking care of Ari. It was almost impossible for me to work the first week and the second week wasn't much better. I'm still playing catch up and luckily one deadline was moved by 3 weeks!

Ari was in rare form tonight after his day at the babysitters with his friend "Lolan" (Logan) and a 3 hour nap. At one point he talked for a good few minutes straight. It went something like this "Mow? Mow? Mow? Meet! Meet! Meet! Burts? Burts? Burts? Moon? Moon? Moon? Mik. Mik. Mik. Kime. Kime. Kime. Down. Down. Up. Up. Sit? Sit? Sit?...." He was also running around the house from one thing to the next and tackling Daddy. He had us in stiches!

Ok...my "quick" post is getting a little long. I guess I had more to say than I thought :) I'll try to post some pictures this weekend...

Playing Catch-Up

Things have been pretty busy since my last post and I can't belive almost a month has gone by! I spent most of my "free time" preparing to take the professional engineering licensing exam which I took yesterday. It was 8 long hours of nerve-wracking, brain-straining torture, but it's finally over. Now I just have to wait about 6 weeks for the results... I'm still quite exhausted today and think I may be getting a cold now that I've let my guard down so to speak. I think Ari may be getting sick as well. No rest for the weary...

As for some catch-up items...first a pregnancy update. I had an appointment a few weeks ago and all is still well! I know at this point with Ari I was already swelling and as of now I can still wear all my rings! I've been feeling pretty good as well and nesting like crazy. Now that my test is over, I can allow myself to give into my urges to clean and organize! Just for fun, here is are some comparison pictures. The first is with Ari (around 24 weeks) and the second was taken today (around 25 weeks). Until I saw the 2 side-by-side, I thought I was bigger this time. It must have been the swelling.






Now an Ari update: He had his 18 month check-up on the 31st and is healthy as ever. He weighed in at 21lb 11oz and 30.5" tall. He finally made it back on the charts for weight, now in the 5th percentile! He's still in the 10th percentile for height and well above average for his head size - not surprising :) He's talking like crazy and picks up new words almost instantly. We hear him "practicing" as he lays in bed or on car rides. He is also very aware when Mommy or Daddy are missing and asks about them repeatedly. He loves to run and has learned to walk backwards and also to spin. He still enjoys music as well although no new compositions since the last post. I should close for now since this is getting long and I'm about to pass out from exhaustion. I'll leave you with Ari's "official" 18 month picture we had taken this morning. Enjoy! :)
