Asher Loves His Elmo, His Party Too!

What a birthday week our sweet boy had!  Last Monday we had an ice/freezing temperature day at home (after it being 80 degrees that Saturday!) and used our time to decorate for Asher's birthday and party.  It was quite festive around here for the past week!

Asher's birthday was on Tuesday and after dinner we celebrated with cupcakes and family gifts.  Ari and Keira went above and beyond all on their own.  They each made him a special card and rainbow loom bracelets and a necklace.  Ari even gave Asher $3 of his very own money!  We have some special kids!

Asher requested an Elmo party and I was inspired by my current laundry room update (pic's coming soon!) to use turquoise as an accent with all the red.  As luck would have it, a dear friend had used the same color scheme for a Valentine's party and shared many of her wonderful decorations.  I played off the "Elmo loves his goldfish, his crayons too" catch phrase as well.  We had a goldfish (crackers) bar with 4 different flavors served in fish bowls as well as a coloring station with plenty of crayons.  We ate Elmo's favorite food, pizza,
served with veggie and fruit trays made to look like Elmo.  I also found some scratch art fish shapes for the kids to decorate and made a magnetic fishing game.  And, as requested by Keira, we had Pin the Nose on Elmo.  Most of our friends were able to attend and it seems like everyone had a great time.  The important part was Asher did!

On Sunday, I asked Asher if he enjoyed his party and he said, "Yes.  It was very sweet."  Just like our Asher!

Number Three is Three!

Our third born turned 3 yesterday!  He had a special day which included lunch at Chick-fil-A with Mommy, testing the frosting for his cupcakes and opening gifts. Papa was in town over the weekend and Asher was able to have an early start with presents (those pics are in my camera, though. Doing a cell post for a change...)

Now we're prepping for his Elmo party this Saturday. Thanks to being stuck at home Monday after a random ice storm, we got a jump on decorating & getting some things together.

Asher continues to be sweet & silly & keeps us laughing on a regular basis. His advanced language skills keep us on our toes as well. We're working on letter recognition & sounds, but he's fluent in saying his abc's & counting almost to 20. He loves to dress up & play & do whatever his big brother & sister are doing. I'm continually amazed at the balance he brings to our family.

We love you so much sweet boy!!!
