Train Fun

Two weeks ago my parents and sister came for a visit. After weeks of asking to ride on a train, we planned for Ari's first trip. We have a local "commuter" (I use the term loosely) train that runs between Ft. Worth and Dallas with a stop not too far from our house. Ari was excited until he heard the train whistle up close and it scared him pretty good. He was nervous the whole ride and even asked to get off! The ride home was much better and then he didn't want to get off! One of the Ft. Worth stops puts you near the Water Gardens which was our destination. We strolled around the man-made park with waterfalls, pools and fountains. Ari loved it and luckily it warmed up enough for him to splash in some of the water. Once we saw all there was to see, we continued walking and ended up in downtown where we shopped and had a nice lunch. It was a tiring, but fun day.

The rest of their visit was nice as well. We spent most of it around the house with Ari and Keira getting undivided attention. We also found a new BBQ restaurant that became an instant favorite with us all.

Here are just a few pic's from the weekend. Enjoy :)

What a great outing! I didn't know there was a train between D & FW. I may give it a go when I come there in July.

ITM - thanks! we think so ;)

Doug - it's called the Trinity Rail Express (ha!) or TRE if you want to look it up. Your tickets are transferrable to the buses and light rail once you're in FW or D. When in July are you coming?
