In a Galaxy Far, Far away... A boy of destiny was born. The Jedi council named him Ari and they knew that he was the chosen one. In the 5 years that has followed his birth, he has been learning the powers of the force. Recently though, the Jedi knights called upon young Padawan Ari to celebrate his birth for a whole week. *Cue dramatic Star Wars music here.*
It only took a day or so after turning 4 that Ari decided he wanted a Star Wars party for his 5th birthday. Amazingly enough, he stuck with that choice and couldn’t be happier.
For school on Tuesday I made Darth Vader sugar cookies (and totally forgot to take pictures) which were a big hit. After school he opened presents from all the grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. That evening we went to Olive Garden for dinner – another birthday request from last year. Ari picked tiramisu for dessert. Ah, a boy after my own heart!
Wednesday we celebrated his birthday again at home group with oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. While the kids were at school again on Thursday, I prepped party favors and food for the party.
Today was the climax of birthday week – the party! We went to the bounce-house place with lots of friends and their siblings thanks to a school in-service day. After working up an appetite, it was time for some Chick-Fil-A nuggets, fruit and, of course, cupcakes.
I still can’t believe my sweet boy is 5! What fun we had this week!

Sounds like it was a week full of great memories.
The cousins are two peas in a pod. Charis hasn't let a day go by without planning her Dora party. Ari is way cool for picking Star Wars. ;)
Yay! Sounds like fun! Glad to hear that Ari had a great birthday week! =)
Asher is getting so big! - And your hair is getting so long!
I bet the Star Wars sugar cookies were a hit! (We can't take anything homemade to Jackson's school - everything has to be purchased and in the original package =( )
