Chef Boy-Ari

Ari has really taken a liking to helping me in the kitchen lately. He enjoys measuring, dumping, stirring, cutting (with a butter knife) and any other element I'll let him take charge of. He puts on his red apron, pulls up a chair and gets right in the middle of everything. Cooking with a three-year-old has been a test of my patience, but the plus side is he's been eating so much better. He thinks it's so exciting to eat something he's had a part in and I'm sure it doesn't hurt that we ooo and ahhh over how yummy it is since he made it.

Here's a video of the chef in action helping my mom make blueberry muffins during our visit in December.

Yay for kids in the kitchen. It is such a joy to give your kids the desire to make their own food.
Just wait until Keira gets in there. It's a good time with two kiddos and cooking/measuring/dumping. ;)

That is awesome! Ari is adorable and such a fun thing to cook with Grandma too. =) (Jack loves to stir, but we usually wind up with half the bowl contents on the counter and/or floor...)

So cute. And I agree, a huge test of patience! And learning not to touch hot things. Charis loves stirring the best, but lacks the control so far to keep whatever she's stirring in the bowl or pot.
