Time to get caught up on vacation posts!
Two of the days we were in Denver we met up with friends to let the kids play and catch up. Our first outing we had planned to eat pizza then let the kids play in the fountains (the kind that come out of the sidewalk) at the Westminster Promenade. Upon arriving we discovered the fountains were closed for repairs so we ate our pizza and tried to think of somewhere else to go. While we were discussing options, the boys (Ari and our friend’s son who’s the same age) started playing in the trough of water around the gazebo. Pretty soon they were splashing and turning their shoes into boats. We all went with it, pulled out the water toys, swim trunks and sunscreen and let them have at it. Before we knew it they were waist-deep wading through the water and having a grand time. Keira played in the water for a while, but was much more content emptying the diaper bag and eating snacks. Unfortunately the battery in my camera died after only a few pictures. So sad.
For our second outing we met more friends at a park neither of us had been to before. It included a smaller playground for little kids that was shaded, a bigger playground and fountains that came out of the sidewalk! The kids played on the playgrounds and swings for a while, but Ari of course asked to go in the water when it was about time to leave. We didn’t have his trunks this time around, so Keenan stripped Ari down to his diaper and let him run wild. Well, wild for Ari - I think at some point he finally put one hand in the water. Silly boy.
Ok…enough yappin’, here’s the pic’s! :)

That water trough looks pretty inviting. Playgrounds sure have gotten colorful since the days of metal slides and swingsets.
